Descripción

The V-2 (Aggregat 4) ballistic rocket was the first man-made object to ever reach space, 100km above sea-level as defined by the Karman Line. It was developed by Wernher Von Braun, who later also designed the Saturn V Moon Rocket for NASA, for the German Wehrmacht during World War II and was used to bomb London and other strategic locations in England. After the war both the US and the USSR tried to get both V-2 hardware and the engineers who build them. Most rockets today still show similarities with this first spacecraft and are to some extend based on it.
