La description
Classic "English Astronomical Regulator Clock", circa 1890.
Considered the highest achievement of the clockmaker and instrument makers skills. Used in observatories to time astronomical events, and in high end clock shops, banks and businesses as a "Master Timekeeper".
A high quality Regulator was able to keep time to within a fraction of a seconds per month.
The traditional design with separate hour, minute and seconds hands, with the seconds hand being large and central. Fitted with the Graham Deadbeat escapement, mercury compensated pendulum and a skeletonized movement and plates.
This model is such that it could be used as a design for a qualified clockmaker to recreate from scratch, presuming proper horological techniques and procedures such as wheel tooth for, wheel train placement and all correct mathematical computations including pendulum design and dimensions.
Modeled full size in SolidWorks 2014. OBJ created in SimLab, and tested in KeyShot 6 Pro. You are responsible to verify that my available formats are compatible to your software.
