Building Castelar The Castelar building is an office building located at number 50 Paseo de la Castellana ( Emilio Castelar Square ), in the city of Madrid . It was designed by the Spanish architect Rafael de La-Hoz Arderius in 1975 and directed between 1977 and 1983 its construction. In 2010 he was reformed under the leadership of his son Rafael de La-Hoz Castanys . Since 2012 it has been leased in its entirety to the Perez-Llorca law firm, which previously had its headquarters in Alcal , 61. 2 3 History: The Castelar building is named after the square dedicated to the politician Emilio Castelar and is located on Paseo de la Castellana . The building is situated on the site formerly occupied by the palace of the Count de la Maza , which was designed by the architects Palacios and Otamendi . 4 The author of the project was the architect Rafael de La-Hoz Arderius , assisted by Gerardo Olivares and his son, a young Rafael de La-Hoz Castanys . 5 It was built to be the seat of Bank , which disappeared after merging with Banesto . It then passed into the hands of the Spanish Credit Bank . 6 Later it was acquired by Mutua Madrilea , who rented it to Catalana Occidente until 2009. 6 7 Between 2010 and 2011 the property was remodeled by the son of the original architect, Rafael de La-Hoz Castanys . The work of reform consisted in the demolition of all the internal elements of the building together with the replacement of the glass of the facade by one that is transparent from the interior, respecting the previous design.
