The airplane is loosely based on the CRJ200 series with a few major improvements. Seat configurations change the number of seats used in each of the different airlines who fly the CRJ900 airliners. In 2007, Bombardier launched the CRJ900 NextGen to replace the initial version. It is built in Canada by Bombardier and used by airlines all over the world.
