Descrizione
Created by a more than 20 years VFX and 3D animation industry veteran.
Photo-realistic model of a ladybug. All renders and shaders done in V-Ray. Fur done with V-Ray fur. Dust made with particle flow. Water drops done in simple geometry.
There is an obj for the turntable scene (but no shader and no animation can be translated to obj).
There is a high quality HDR 360 degree image (2048 x 1024) for environment reflection that you can also use for other projects. This one was made from the inside of a car.
The textures are divided in many parts of 2048 x 2048 each.
V-Ray elements are setup to provide all the passes to make a realistic compositing. Occlusion, Zdetph and RGB masks. The render examples were composited with those passes to add depth of field for example. Motion blur is rendered with V-Ray directly.
You can see a hi-res turntable and an example animation in the supporting items section.
This model is not to scale. Cause it would have been too tiny. It is about 70 cm high.
RIG AND ANIMATION NOTES:
Rigged and animated with CAT, a powerful rig system included with 3ds Max.. There are 2 files, one for the turntable and one for the animation example.
From frame 0 to 100 this is the turntable (with the camera called "VRcamTurnTable") and from 100 to 325, this is the ladybug animation (visible in the camera named "VRcamAnimCrawlFly"). Animated over 225 frames at 24 fps. The ladybug crawls up a bit on a car seat and then opens its wings and go away by flying.
The antenaes and mandibulaes are animated proceduraly with a noise function so they constantly move.
