This is the Nardi Wood Classic steering wheel that came in special MX-5 edition.
Whole steering wheel was measured by the real product in tolerance of 0.0mm, drawn on paper, then exact measurements translated in Solidworks. It should be 99,9% true to the original product. Only way it could be 100% accurate is 3d scan.
There are only few things that I couldn't mimic the same. First thing is signature that is engraved on the right spoke of the steering wheel. The signature that was quality enough on the internet, once it was traced, there happened to be small difference to the actual signature on the real wheel.
Second thing is serial number on the back of the wheel, it is the exact serial number as my wheel, but the font isn't 100% the same. There is slight difference on the number 3. Everything else should be in 0.05 +/- tolerance the same as the real model.
There is no stickers/labels in this model, everything what you see is part on its own. So every part of logo on the horn button is part of its own so you could add material and colour. It is made this way so you dont have trouble by aligning stickers labels in render programs such as Keyshot. Everything is in its exact measure scale and position. Wood part is separate from black stripe aswell.
The metal part with rim ring inside the wood is modeled the same way as the real Nardi wooden steering wheel was made. Metal part has all the right fillets attached and measured as they should be on the real model.
Horn button is assembly made of 6 separate parts, same as the original button. I disassembled the real horn, and made 3d models of each part and assembled it again into solidworks assembly.
Materials were attached in solidworks with standard Solidworks 2016 material library, so if you have the same one or newer it should remain the same.
My apologies if the number of polygons and vertices are not the same as declared, this is my first model uploaded here, and I just couldn't find the correct way of counting those.
