Chinese submarine launched ballistic missile
The JL-2 "Giant Wave" submarine ballistic missile is the second generation SLBM developed by the PLA. As a successor to the JL-1, the three stage, solid fueled JL-2 is a variant of the DF-31 land based ballistic missile. With the first successful launch in 2005, the missile can carry a single or MIRV payload to a range up to 8000km
