The Banshee was a development of an earlier fighter the FH-1 Phantom. The Banshee used much larger and more powerful engines. F2H-2 was improved version with detachable wingtip fuel tanks, eight underwing weapons stores, Westinghouse turbojet engines. Second production version, 308 built.
