This model of Fife's "perfectly" designed yacht, the legendary Moonbeam III, 1903, was created as an artist's reference. Native to Rhino 6, the file is available in 3ds and Collada. It is created to scale, precisely matching lines taken during refitting in the 1980s. Befitting a reference model, rigging is rudimentary and elements not visible from a distance have been elided. Basic materials were applied in Rhino 6. Stitching lines on the sails match historical standards and are enlarged. They can be deleted from the model and swapped out for a sailcloth texture on the sail surfaces. All curves are preserved on a single layer, the model is divided into hull and deck, spars and masts, rigging, sails, deck fittings and bowsprit. Individual elements not authorized for resale. This model would work as a background piece in an animation or as a ship model in a case or on a stand in a larger scene.
