Here is a very good tutorial I used https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1mExXURsWk Its a maya tutorial but you can do the same in Blender3d or any other 3d program.

This hand looks great, but I had a question. I wanted to use this model as a type of reference for modeling my own original hand and rigging my own original hand. More specifically I wanted to take pictures of this hand in front,side, and back view, while in Blender and then model based off of it. After that I was planning on going over it and making it different, (such as modeling the fingers based off of another photo and then attaching them to the newly made model I would have made.) Would using the hand in this way be okay with you. If not, then would you mind telling me where you got the reference for this hand that I really like.

Thanks rgspender, Yes this is possible, I made something like this for an implementation of a data glove into the blender game engine, some time ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARkPq8giZ5s It is possible to reading in and process a bin-file with python in realtime. But this is not downloadable because it was a job.
