BONUS UPDATE SUMMER 2011: A new higher detail version of the shoe has just been uploaded. Now you have the choice of the low detail or higher detail model complete with side air holes, and improved shaping, arches, etc. all for the same low price! Crocs are a great all-round choice for accessorizing your human model, be it a boy, girl, young woman, man, tourist, beach goer, or sports player, etc. Just change the colors to suit the model. The new high-rez renders were rendered in Octane, with some standard materials applied. The notes below pertain to the original low detail model, which is still included in the zip file: =========== The original included model is relatively low detail. I didn"t have time to do more to it but it is a clean model made primary of four-sided quads. I recommend that you apply your own material maps to the model. The mapping was a quick kluge and isn"t great but worked for my purposes. The breathing holes around the front and over the top are in the material and are not modeled. If you need a model for closeup, this model may be a good way to start and save yourself some time -- you can add your own holes and if necessary a grip pattern on the tread. In the Max file the model is uncollapsed and you can turn off the smoothing and add more detail. The preview images show wireframe renderings of the shoe with smoothing turned off and with it on (isoline and poly renderings). You can also see shaded renderings of it with the mapping on and off (no holes). The listed poly count is with Turbosmooth set to level 2. These unisex shoes work for men, women, boys or girls -- just pick an appropriate color. You can easily mirror the shoe to make a pair.
