기술
This is a 500 frame, pre-simulated, animated polygon mesh in Alembic Format.
The Product contains two animated polygon meshes with non-changing topology, each containing 500 frames of a distinct flowing liquid simulation.
Both patches are tileable with itself in flow direction. To ensure seamless smooth shading, each patch comes with animated custom normals.
NOTE: Altering the mesh (which is possible) like subdivision might change the custom normals revealing seams when tiling. Use your software's tool to ensure seamless smooth shading in this case, eg. merging the patches in a single mesh and removing the custom normals.
Alembic is a free, open, software-independent format compatible (via native importer plugins) with 3ds max (2016), Maya, Cinema 4D, Softimage, Modo, Lightwave and many others. Alembic animations are streamed from disc into your scene rather than having to be completely loaded in Memory. Alembic files can often directly loaded in standalone renderers like Arnold, Vray and Octane or even compositors like Nuke and Fusion.*
Usage:
Load in your application *, assign your favorite water-shader and render.
The flowing water surface mesh can be translated, tiled seamlessly, scaled and (depending on the importer) retimed. It consist entirely of quads and can be subdivided, deformed and edited in many ways. You can even re-export it and reuse it in other applications.
Depending on scaling and tiling it is suitable for streams and rivulets, canals, ducts and more. The clean UVs that deform with the waves make it easy to enhance the animation with additional maps (not included)
* Please check your applications documentation for alembic compatibility, usage and supported features. For more information about the alembic format google alembic.io
