History The Kinnear camera was a famous European camera of the 19th century. In the late 1850s a Scottish photographer named C.G.H Kinnear invented a camera with a tapered bellows that allowed the camera to fold into a compact form. The wood body of the camera was also innovative because it allowed the front area of the camera to be extended or retracted along the base of the camera by way of an endless screw. These innovations would pass into other cameras.
