Here is a set of Shimano LX Deore shifters for a mountain bike. Don't let their size fool you, they're probably one of the most intense and difficult models I've done to date. If you ever want to improve or practice your surfacing skills, do stuff like this.
I originally was just going to model the exteriors but when I opened them up I was so intrigued by how they worked I modeled the mechanical components also. You've probaly taken your bike shifters for granted all your life but they really are remarkable pieces of technology once you understand how they work and how the mechanical components work together, almost like a watch.

In the file package:
You get all the parts and components in the original SolidWorks format, .sldprt. If you want the .step and .stl files, you will have to convert them yourself. All you need is Solidworks software to do this.
I also included a folder containing the logo's, graphics and some renderings as shown in the display images.
NOTE:
I modeled this without taking the mechanism completely apart so although the mechanism fits together well and serves a fairly good functional model, there has been some estimation on some of the parts.
The exterior shell of the model is quite accurate though, it was modeled with a caliper so it's close to .001" accurate in most places but some of the curvatures might deviate slightly due to estimations. I can't guarantee that this model could be 3d printed and the parts used to replace the real shifters but it could be possible and atleast it would serve as a good starting point where only a few tweaks might need to be made instead of trying to start from scratch.
Enjoy.
