US Navy Anti-Submarine Rocket
The RUR-5 Anti-Submarine ROCket was developed by the US Navy in the 1950s to be an all weather/all sea-state anti-submarine missile. Development of the Rocket Assisted Torpedo (RAT) program was to allow surface ships to counter the quieter and faster cold war era submarines as greater ranges. The solid propellant rocket motor had a range of 19km. Fitted for the Mark 46 torpedo, the rocket stage would separate from the torpedo, providing a parachute splashdown to where the torpedo would be guided by its own active/passive sonar system.
Early versions of the system included a W44 nuclear depth charge but never went beyond testing due to the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.
- Two stage rocket assembly
- 2k texture and bump maps
- MK-46 torpedo payload and nuclear depth charge versions
