Design: Tom Dixon, 2010
The award winning sitting, stacking, lighting thing. First launched in 1994, Jack was designed and mass produced to prove industrial manufacture was still possible in the UK. This multi-functional object is produced from polyethylene. Jack uses the industrial process of air rotation-molding. Plastic polythene pellets are added into a five-part tool, rotated and heated to high temperatures which creates a plastic wall of even thickness.
