History This 40 foot Steam Launch is typical of those built in the late 19th Century for pleasure, fishing and general waterway transportation. She has an elegant Sharp Run bow, rather than the more common blunt bow of working ships. This historically accurate and highly detailed full scale (1:1) model would be an ideal Key Asset to late 19th Century period set design and imaging, and is capable of extreme close-ups and rendering. The Model The original SolidWorks CAD model was reverse-engineered from many period line drawings and numerous photographs. It is representative of my museum quality work in the field of Industrial Archaeology. Lettering was created with the split-line feature so is not physical geometry and can be used or not to suit. The high resolution model contains 11,755,135 polys. All parts and/or surfaces were color mapped within SolidWorks. The .obj retains the UV mapping to simplify materials in your own rendering software. Materials ARE NOT included. Model includes a super-detailed 7 x 7 Twin Simple steam engine. Model includes a Water Plane (wave material NOT included) and a display base and nameplate for use as a display model. Model can be resized to suit in your rendering app. She is offered only in the OBJ format. The SolidWorks model was converted into the .obj format using SimLab Animator. Rendering is in KeyShot 7 Pro from Luxion.
