1:General description 2:Benefit of Professional version 3:Current Limitations =================================== 1:General description HMS Victory might be the most famous tall ship in the world. We will try to make this model do its fame justice:-) All renders in preview section are rended with LOD1. This model is visually near_identical with LOD0, except LOD0 is more heavy and is a quad based model while LOD1 is lighter and is a triangle based model.For some detail, LOD0 is still better than LOD1. For model organization and polygon/triangle/vertex count for the 4 models, Please refer to Model&config.jpg in the accompanying file section. There are 3 configurations for each LOD--- Rig Only/ Sail Wind / Sail NoWind. ============================================ 2:Benefit of Professional version All 4 LOD models. LOD0,LOD1,LOD2,LOD3 Standard and lite version are all(or mostly)triangle faced models. Editability therefore is very limited. Professional version has 90-plus percent quad face(figure head is not counted as it is triangle heavy)With the quad version, you can easily add more segment to make curve smoother. You can easily make good 10k*10k size renders now without adding more faces, though. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ocean model has modifier stack from ground up(start from a plane and stacked up with modifiers) You can easily make the ocean more calm or more stormy or animate it by changing phase value over time. =========================================== 3:Current Limitations HDR files in the renders are not provided in the package. It would be better if you have outliner script installed in your 3ds Max. it is a popular layer management script.
