M3A3 Stuart V. The m3a3 introduced improvements to the inadequacies of the m3a1. Welded sloped armor, increased fuel storage doubling its capacity, redesigned turret with rear overhang to house the SCR-508 radio and almost doubling the storage capacity for 37 mm rounds. Escape hatches for the driver were also introduced.The M3a3 and the m5a1 were developed at the same time and both designs shared the same improvements. The m3a3 was almost exclusively used by foreign countries with only a handful being used by US troops. Great Britain received the majority of tanks but China and free France also received tanks. At the end of WWII Tito's partisans in Yugoslavia received surplus tanks. 3,427 were produced during the war. Pictured here is a tank of the 22nd Armored Brigade, 7th Armored Division in Normandy.
