Mammoth Luba is a fossil female mammoth species of the woolly mammoth (lat.Mammuthus primigenius), found in May 2007 by the reindeer herder Yuri Hoody in the upper reaches of the Yuribey River on the Yamal Peninsula. Received the name "Luba" in honor of the reindeer herder's wife. "Predecessors" - Dima mammoths, found in 1977 in the upper river. Kolyma and Masha, discovered on the Yamal Peninsula in 1988.
