WATER FOUNTAIN The model consists of a two tiered water fountain and pool plus a granite centrepiece and surround. This detailed model has been created in 3ds Max 2012 and uses the mental ray renderer. The scene contains five cameras which have been used to produce the published preview images. Everything you see in the preview renders is included in the product. All objects have been organised into hierarchical groups. All objects are editable polygons and have been cleanly modelled. The scene is entirely made up of quads and tris. In real world dimensions the fountain has a 6.4m diameter and is 4.4m high. Each of the twenty water jets in each tier is unique. The water splashes are part of the jet. The water surface uses displacement for the ripples. The foam is applied to the surface as a texture. All objects are textured. Five textures are used in all. The textures use mental ray's shaders and templates. Six custom images are used in the textures. The granite has two 2048 x 2048 bitmaps (diffuse and bump). The Lower Pool has two 1200 x 900 bitmaps (displacement and mask). The Middle Pool has two 475 x 475 bitmaps (displacement and mask). The masks are used in the Blend materials to distinguish between the surface foam and the rest of the water surface. No sub-division modifiers are applied to the objects in the model but all geometry is sub-dividable. All the preview renders were produced on a Windows 7 PC with 4gb ram.
