Another concept design for a canoe rod holder I did for a design competition.. The idea behind this concept is to have a minimalist style rod holder that is not only functional but has aesthetic appeal also. My overall goal was to keep things as minimalist as possible. The lines are meant to mimic the curvature of the canoes it sits on, it was all about designing for context. I’m really really happy with the way it turned out. The backbone of my design is essential a spring steel mated to rich mahogany wood. The spring steel band is .11” thick(this can be altered depending on how well prototypes work, can't imagine needed anymore than .125"). Modeled in Solidworks2012, rendered in PV360...all native files, assemblies and renderings are included.. thanks
