Mars 10K Lightweight Planet Sphere 3D model

Overview

The light edition of the Mars set. A full planet sphere with a 10K surface colour map, made for background planets, wide establishing shots, motion graphics, previz and every scene where Mars is on screen but is not the subject.

Geometry

Polygonal quads only, 225,000 polygons and 223,968 vertices. Equirectangular latitude and longitude UV layout, the standard mapping for planet spheres.

Textures

10K colour map at 10000x5000 with matching Bump, Normal and Specular maps, plus an 8K set at 8000x4000. Real surface layout rather than a stylised one. It loads and redraws fast and keeps texture memory low when several planets share one scene.

Native Scene

Cinema 4D R20, Physical renderer. Two prepared scenes are supplied, a Mars Sky setup and a Mars Sunset setup, each with Mars, Atmosphere and Sunset layers.

NOT INCLUDED

Space background, stars, glow and lens effects from the preview renders. Phobos, Deimos and other planets. Lighting setup, HDRI and colour grading used in the previews. Terrain patches, rocks or surface level assets.
