This model also is available in many different formats. Boeing built the 757 beginning in the early 1980s to replace the middle aged 727s. The result was a highly efficient two-engine passenger aircraft capable of carrying 180 passengers and flying over 5000 miles non-stop. It was popular with the airlines and used a seat layout with a single aisle in the middle of the airplane. The 757-300, the stretched version of the aircraft, entered service with Condor in 1999. It was the longest single-aisle twinjet ever built.
