The model from Star Wars: Empire at War was taken as a basis. ince very little is known about this ship, and the imperial fleet is known for its unity in terms of designs, we can state that this vessel has much in common with other ships. The ships could also be used as a strike frigate and a flagship in regional fleets. It could also transport squadrons of TIEs and land forces where Star Destroyers couldn't get in needed time. The ship could successfully fight against small and medium ships of its class. Armored with Borsell ion cannons, as well as with quad-cannons, the Escort Carrier could easily destroy Nebulon-b frigate or even a few CR-90 corvettes at the same time.
