Katana and wakizashi shaped monofilament blade. The plasma reinforced edge cuts through almost everything. This type of blade appears in many scifi novels. It can be used as a normal -although futuristic- katana and wakizashi pair (daisho). Each blade has its own saya (scabbard), decorated with subtle but elegant motives. The model also comes with a simple stand to display the swords.

Because the model is reasonably low poly, it can be used in games with ease. Originally modeled in Lightwave 3D, other versions were converted. The original version has two blade and two saya options, a straight and a curved. (Ninjato blades are straight) Also the original version uses procedural textures, but there is a simplified, UV mapped version to make conversion easy.

I have used public internet sources for the blade concept, but later added lot more detail and my own ideas. The blade curvature is around 7-8 degreee for the katana, but it can be made more curved with ease without modifying any textures.
