She was built in the early 1900s by the Cunard line and launched in 1906. She got passengers from Europe to the US and made 202 Atlantic ocean crossings. On 7 May 1915 she was torpedoed and sunk off the coast of Ireland by a German U-boat submarine. This torpedoing of a passenger liner killing many Americans was the final straw that brought America into the War on the side of the British and French.
