The CASA CN-235 is a medium range twin engine-turbo-prop powered transport aircraft. It serves in both a military version and as a regional airliner transport and cargo plane.
The CN-235 was designed beginning in 1980 and first flew in 1983. The aircraft entered service in March 1988. The CN-235 was selected by the US Coast Guard as a medium range patrol aircraft and designated the HC144A. There are also two CN-235s operating with the US Air Force with undisclosed roles.
