Easy to reduce the amount of polygons because of simple and uncollapsed structure: ----spline + lathe modifier + uvw cylindrical mapping You can reduce interpolation in spline modifier or/and reduce number of steps in Lathe modifier depending on your needs/ power of your machine/time left before deadline :).
