Description
A 3D Model of a Canine Skeleton, created in 3D Studio Max 2009.
ACHIEVEMENTS: This canine skeleton trot cycle animation has become a popular one on YouTube. A company has used this animation for education purposes. Many people on YouTube have reached out to me, asking for this animation and model... so here they are, to you.
That said, this package includes 2 separate files: one with just the Canine Skeleton model (not animated), and the second containing a scene featuring a trot cycle animation.
All bones have been linked and pivot points placed in their correct locations.
The animation was originally tracked from a video of a real dog on a treadmill, making the movement highly accurate.
DISCLAIMER: Please note that the lighting, backdrop, and signature pose in pictures are NOT included, but most certainly can be added - these are strictly for demonstration purposes. The signature photo can allow you to visually see that the pivot points have indeed been arranged on this model.
Also, IK solvers in pictures are NOT included, but again, serve the purpose of allowing you to see visually that the bones have been linked, with pivot/rotation points arranged - thus, IK solvers are easy to add.
Please understand that this model is NOT rigged, nor is it animated with what may be considered "standard-used" controls or methods (such as IK solvers) - I wish for no misunderstandings in this regard.
Know that what you are getting is:
1) A model of a Canine Skeleton (not animated), in which all of the bones have been linked to their parent object (rib cage) and all of their pivot points have been moved to the correct rotation points.
2) A separate file containing a scene in which the Canine Skeleton has been animated trotting forwards. Note that in this scene, the model is NOT rigged with what may be considered "standard-used" controls/methods for the animation - that said, I can not guarantee that this animation may be easily "tweaked". However, should you wish to render your own videos of a Canine Skeleton in action, this popular trot cycle animation from YouTube is available to you here. I am selling this animation scene "as is" (so to speak) - as many people have been asking me for it, I have thus included it here as a separate file along with just the [unanimated] model.
INCLUDED ARE:
- A model of a Canine Skeleton, with all of the bones linked and pivot points arranged
- A tracked animation of a Canine Skeleton trot cycle, as seen in the popular dog skeleton YouTube videos (see video previews)
In the animation, the skeleton has been linked to a dummy object, and the movement of the dummy is what controls where the skeleton goes. Below is some information regarding the timeline and dummy keys (a rather unconventional animation setup, I will confess, but has nonetheless served me well for rendering beautiful clips of a trotting dog skeleton):
Timeline: Begins on frame 30, ends on frame 110.
Dummy keys: Begins on frame 10, ends on frame 114.
Pretty much all of the parts for this model were created for subdivision, which has been applied.
Pictures above were rendered with a "skylight" and a "directional ambient light" with "area shadows" in 3DS Max 2009 - rendered with the "default scanline renderer".
