Description

This is probably the most detailed and accurate 3D version of this popular chair to be found anywhere on the net. The model was painstakingly built based on original blueprints and photographs. It is based on the contemporary version of the 1951 chair by Ray and Charles Eames as marketed today by the Vitra furniture company. No "shortcuts" were taken so that the 3D model faithfully reflects the construction of the actual chair, including all screws, bolts and other design and functional elements. The mesh is highly detailed but light enough to seat comfortably in crowded CG scenes. It is ideal for architectural vizualisation. The archives include high-resolution wood diffuse and specular maps and a custom optional fibre glass bump map if you wish to replace the shell"s original smooth plastic look. The shell and feet have been carefully UV-mapped, allowing you to use alternative textures if you wish. The model is highly detailed but also surface-subdivision-friendly should you require an even higher level of detail for ultra-close shots (all renders here were done with no additional subdivision levels) Note that the .obj and .3ds files provided here only include basic materials definitions so you may have to re-create your own materials, using the provided textures, depending on your 3D application and renderer. Higher-resolution renders are included in the accompanying bonus archive.
