Description
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a carrier-based fighter aircraft developed to replace the earlier F4F Wildcat in US Navy service. The Hellcat and the F4U Corsair were the primary USN fighters during the second half of World War II.
The Hellcat was credited with destroying 5,271 aircraft while in service with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps, which was more than any other Allied aircraft. Postwar, the Hellcat was phased out of front line service, but remained in service as late as 1954 as a night fighter.
The model is in the blue-grey/light-grey color scheme in use in the first half of 1943.
Modelled in 1:1 real world scale, all parts are conveniently named and separated, textures and specular maps are 2048x2048 pixels and it has the following key-frame animations already in place:
Landing gear
Cowl flaps and vents
Arresting hook
Folding wings
Original format is 3ds max 8, obj generated by Deep Exploration. You might need to re-apply the textures depending on the software used.
In the download are included the clean psd texture templates.
