Description

The Fairey Gannet was an innovative aircraft designed to be a ship borne submarine killer. Powered by the Armstrong Siddeley Double Mamba driving contra-rotating propellors. Each Mamba could be operated seperately and one propellor shut down to conserve fuel. The Gannet served with the Royal Navy from 1954 until 1978, it also served with the Australian, German and Indonesian navies.
