Introducing the Go-Chopper, the ultimate fully printable, desk top toy. The Go-Chopper is a completely original creation featuring many cool bells and whistles that any gadget junky would love to have. The overall design is based on a chopper motorcycle. The main feature of the Go-Chopper is its 11 gear transmission with fully functioning high and low speed selection via a chopper style suicide shifter. The transmission can be run by a separately purchased electric motor or it can be spun manually by hand using a removable handle which will be printed all at the same time. Some other neat features include an integrated battery box, a front light housing where an LED diode can be placed for those long night rides, and rotating rim ornaments. So the next time your swamped with work at the office and just don’t want to do it anymore, hit the road with your Go-Chopper and leave it all behind! Notes: Transmission system is an original creation inspired by 4 speed dirt bike transmission. My only research with this build was how to create involute gears and my experience with rebuilding my dirt bike transmission, nothing is copied from any other toys, I just used intuition and build it as I went. It is still theoretical and could possibly need to be tweaked. Spacing for all moving parts is .0265” (.6mm). This was researched from shapeways, as the minimum spacing for designing moving parts. It can be assumed there will be variation due to different variables so some tweaking might be necessary. The electric motors are anywhere from 7-12$US on ebay. Batteries and switches and LED diodes can be found anywhere on the internet but I’ve basically designed it around the small 3.0-3.6V round lithium batteries found here…..
