Description

An LX Deore rear derailleur that was sitting in my tool box. This is a mid level mountain bike derailleur, Acera being the lowest grade and XT being the highest level within Shimano derailleur systems. This model was...a... B&#%! to do, the angles, the fact that the angles relied on the other components fitting together properly first and the detailed and awkward surfacing features made this my most difficult model to date. Wow. If you want to try it, I wish you luck. Modeled in Solidworks 2012, rendered in KS5! Very accurate and mechanically sound but the geometry and angles could be off slightly from the original as the only way to do it was by eyeball and guesstimation. Overall, the end product fit together like it should , It's perfectly functional and of-course at worst makes a great prop model in your rendering scenes or you can try to print the 3D files to use as replacement parts. In the zipped file package you get all the files in their native Solidworks 2012 format along with most of the major components saved as .STEP and .STL formats which will save you time from converting files. I also included a few of the renderings shown here along with the assembly files. Enjoy the model, keep checking my gallery. Thanks.
