Description
This was an all welded hull with improved escape hatches (larger) for the drivers. The front Glacis was 47 degrees allowing for the removal of the body hatch bulges which were shell traps. The E8 (Easy Eight) designation referred to the new bogey wheel (HVSS) configuration. The new 76 MM gun had increased velocity and thus more armor penetration to 4 inches at 1000 yards. Because of the Shermans bad habit of easily catching fire when hit, water protected ammunition racks were added. The Detroit Tank Arsenal and the Fisher Tank Arsenal produced 4542 M4A3E8s between March of 1944 and April of 1945. Of these 1400 were produced with the older bogey wheels (VVS).
This model is ready to drop into your scene. A Scene file and all textures are included. The model will look like the one rendered.
