Marcel Breuer B40 Chair
Marcel Breuer"s B 40 Chair is one of the most iconic pieces from the Bauhaus School. This model is produced by Tecta in Germany, the licensed producer of this item.
Developed in 1926 as the B 5 for Standard-Moebel, and reissued by Tecta as the B 40, this simple chair is still popular today around a dining room table or as a single utilitarian sculpture. The B 40 is available in a variety of finishes including fabric, CORA, and iron yarn (a Bauhaus-created thick woven fabric).You can read more about the history of this Breuer Chair in the Smithsonian permanent collection here.
Materials: Tubular metal frame nickel plated. Finished with fabric or leather belts (all colors), on backside CORA black, CORA black, dark blue or red, iron yarn black, or saddle leather white, black, or natural. When specified with fabric or leather belts, CORA black is used on the back.
