Description
A game ready model of a moose.
----------------------- 3D models
The model is made from multiple objects. Some objects are made from multiple combined pieces.
The model has a skeleton and is skinned but does not have full rigging with controllers.
Every object has a rotation of 0 and has a scale of 1.
Some parts are triangulated in strategic areas, where the direction of the triangles is important to avoid distorted textures or where edge loops needed to be reduced.
triangle count:
-9420 with fur
-8408 without fur
----------------------- Textures
All objects except the fur use the same set of textures, with color, normals and roughness textures. These textures have a resolution of 4096x4096 for maximum detail, reduce as needed.
The UV layout of these objects is non-overlapping.
The fur uses 2 sets of UVs. One set is non-overlapping and uses the main textures, so the fur matches the color of the body. The other set is overlapping and is used for the hair's transparency and normal maps.
----------------------- Materials
The model has a single material for all objects except the fur. It is a simple PBR material where everything is done by the textures.
The hair has a separate material which also uses the body's textures, but with it's own transparency and normal maps added using a second UV set.
The roughness texture can also be used as a traditional specular color texture if it is inverted (this is the case in the blender Internal scene included).
----------------------- File formats
Blend-
Includes bones and is ready for use. The scene used for the previews is also included.
FBX-
The scene is exported with the bones. Note that depending on the software, the bones may need to be fixed or redone, though the model should import correctly. The materials will need to be tweaked or redone. A version where the antlers, eyes and mouth pieces are unparented from the bones is also included, as the parenting can cause problems when transferring between software.
OBJ-
added for increased compatibility.
