Description
---About---
The periodic table is a table of the chemical elements in which the elements are arranged by order of atomic number in such a way that the periodic properties of the elements are made clear. (source: WebElements)
---Specifications---
-Modelling-
The model was built according to the WebElements and Wikipedia's periodic tables as seen on November 2012 (name of some elements may change in the course of time)
It was made using Cinema 4D's cubes (with fillet) and MoGraph's MoText, but you don't need the module to open the model properly, all texts were converted to editable polys.
-Texturing-
It has no bitmap textures, only shaders and materials, so it makes the 3D slightly lighter.
The colors are based on the classification of the elements (Metallic, Semi-Metallic, Non-Metallic, Noble Gas, Hydrogen and unknown).
-Objects-
The objects are organized in the groups of the periodic table (1A, 2A, 3A and so on), and properly named.
All the texts are inside the cube hierarchy, so, if you're going to animate this, it becomes easier: if you move the cube, the text goes along with it.
There is no cameras, lights or environment in the model's file.
-Rendering-
The model is ready to render on Cinema 4D's Advanced Render and Physical Render and on 3ds Max's Mental Ray.
