Phorusrhacos, often referred to as "terror bird", was one of the largest carnivorous birds to have ever existed. Growing to heights of 8ft (2.5m) and weighing 150kg, with a skull upto 60cm long tipped with a sharp beak this apex predator was not to be trifled with!
