Description: A 3D model of a Rotary Engine, commonly seen on vintage World War I airplanes. Technical Notes: A 3D model of a Rotary Engine, commonly seen on vintage World War I airplanes. Can be used in various WW I vintage airplanes like the Nieuport, Sopwith Camel and the like. No moving parts except for the Wooden Propeller. Textures: Textures are 2048 x 2048 resolution. Color and bump maps are included. Original .psd file of the texture maps are also provided. History: Felix Millet showed a 5 cylinder rotary engine built into a bicycle wheel at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1889. Millet had patented the engine in 1888, so must be considered the pioneer of the internal combustion rotary engine. A machine powered by his engine took part in the Paris-Bordeaux-Paris race of 1895 and the system was put into production by Darracq in 1900. (wiki)
