Description
This 3d model is a very detailed near to scale model. It includes even deck furniture. The model is also built fully textured. This model includes detail on the bridge and the stern bridge as well. Cranes, propellers, rudder and lifeboats are all animateable. The model is built geometrically and is a very high poly model. Ladders, radio antenna, doors, nav lights, lifeboats, davits, handrails and many other details are modeled, giving this model a lot of realistic appearance.
The White Star Lines built and launched the RMS Titanic in Ireland in May 1911 making it the worlds largest ocean liner at that time. She was capable of carrying 2435 passengers and 892 crew. There were certain design flaws in the ship one being a lack of lifeboats. There were only 20 lifeboats with a maximum capacity of 1178 persons. This was at the time considered a good arrangement since the ship was considered to be unsinkable.
However the ship sailed from her home port at Southampton England on her maiden voyage 10 April 1912. On 14 April at 11:40pm in the North Atlantic Ocean she hit and iceberg which penetrated the hull in 5 watertight compartments causing the ship to founder and sink in just over 2 hours. 1500 passengers and crew perished.
