Description
The first liquid-fueled rocket and support platform
Developed by Robert Goddard in 1923, the design proved that liquid fuel and liquid oxygen can be combined to propel an object. Using gasoline and LOX, Goddard launched the rocket for the first time on March 16, 1926. The liquid fueled rocket flew for 2.5 seconds, reaching an altitude of 41 feet and a range of 184 feet. This paved the way to the future of liquid fueled rocketry.
