It's turbosmoothed lowpoly with instanced petals.
texturing is purely procedural (gradient ramp)
it does 3 opening cycles in different directions. Move the timeslider!
It's set up to be rendered in a Linear Workflow environment (LWF)
Scenefiles keeps the lighting and rendering setup from the images (fR). Mental Ray version is very close to the final Render version you see here.
