Description
This is the knife of choice used by the Nepalese Gurkha's called the Kukri. It is praised the world over as the best knife ever made, and therefore I wanted to make one. As it is with my previous weapons, two blades are displayed above. There are three meshes that makeup the components of the blade; The blade and tang, the grip, and the brass loop-hole. Like all the weaponry I create, each piece has a high-poly counterpart which was used in the generation of the Normal-Map, which is shown here as the top sword. By far, this is one of the fastest pieces I've ever done when it came to modeling and texturing - 4 hours flat. However, I lost a weeks worth of time on this sucker because of the amount of glass that was used in this piece. Though it took a while to get right, I truly believe this is one of the best pieces that I've done.
