Mutant Army RTS faction
Selected FBX models in the package have two or three different color textures. Designed to look good in a top-down RTS game.
Thumbnails with a brown background were rendered in 3DSMAx2009: WYSWYG.
All other thumbnails are viewport screengrabs from the Unity3D engine. The battle scene in Third Person Viewpoint was assembled using a free terrain example scene and is shown here for demonstration purposes, so you can see how these models might look in your 3D RTS game.
3DSMax 2009 scene features:
- Welded vertices, watertight meshes, error-free.
- Specular maps are stored in diffuse map alpha channels and configured properly for rendering.
- Models are triangulated via FBX.
- Correct naming of models and corresponding materials.
- Stripped path names
- Layers for easy navigation
- Nice and fast scanline render with camera setup
Unity 3D scene:
- Engine version 4.3.1.f1
- Scene is available for download as zipped Assests directory or in UnityPackage format.
- Diffuse, specular and normal maps are optimized to look good in the Unity 3D Engine.
- Optimized all settings and materials for Unity's Fantastic-Quality level.
Textures:
3200 x 3200 RTS_ground_tileable.bmp for the 3DSMax scene
1024 x 1024 diffuse, specular and normal maps in TGA format.
All models support Lightmapping by having two UV channels. UV1 is for textures, UV2 is for ligthmaps, which are non-overlapping.

Game Design description:
Military cyborgs: This mutant army consists of half machine - half organic units.
Ground units:
- Annihilator: 3 heavy cannons
- Siege Cannon: 1 heavy cannon
- Scorpion Tank: 2 light cannons, 1 stinger tail
- Walker: 1 light cannon, mechanoid legs.
- Gunner: heavy infantry with plasma cannon
- Ranger: scout
- Worker: miner, resource collector
- Constructor: creates buildings
Flying units:
- Beelzebub: flying fortress with seven large lightning cannons
- Horus: heavy air-superiority fighter
- Light fighter/scout sporting light machine guns
- Ghost: flying spy/assassin
- Cyborg leech: levitation capability, siphons organic enemies and leaves them as dry husks.
