NichBook01 3d model

This is just a simple hardback book model, made in Blender. It has a cover texture I made by scanning the surfaces of one of my own real hardback books, which has a cardboard/cloth cover with a blue weave pattern. The part of the texture which makes up the page edges, was made from some digital photos I took of the sides of the book. And then after scanning and photographing, I did a bit of retouching in photoshop to add some yellowish aging to the page edges, and some dings and scratches to the whole overall texture. The texture is a single image file in PNG format (1790x1460), and is UV mapped to cover each polygon of the model. I also made a couple alternate variations of the texture (included in the zip file), which have the word "eBook" printed on the spine in gold paint, along with an ePub logo or a PDF logo on the front cover. All modeling and UV mapping was done in Blender 2.62. All texture editing was done in Photoshop CS5. The DAE (Collada) version of the model was exported from Blender, and all other versions were then converted from the DAE file, using Accutrans3D version 2012, except for the FBX version, which was converted from the DAE file using Autodesk FBX Converter version 2013.
