It may take time for the transition to occur in the setats b/c Americans have accustomed to gasoline powered vehicles. TDI's are for on great on fuel economy compared to their gasoline engined counterparts. Diesel engines are more sturdy and reliable due to their construction. Cons: diesel fuel is still more expensive compared to gasoline b/c of the taxes imposed, they are more expensive to maintain b/c diesel parts don't come cheap compared to gasoline engine parts.
