A Dyson sphere is a hypothetical megastructure that completely encompasses a star and captures a large percentage of its power output. The concept is a thought experiment that attempts to explain how a spacefaring civilization would meet its energy requirements once those requirements exceed what can be generated from the home planet's resources alone. Scene objects are organized by layers / groups. Marmoset Toolbag 3 scene bundle is included. Model is UV mapped ( Unwrapping method is not used ). Dimension: ~242 cm x ~62 cm x ~242 cm Due to astronomical scale, scene simply fits in default grid. You're be able to resize the model based on scaling of your scene. This model uses a scale of 1 unit = 1 Centimeter Other than VRay, no other plugin is used for Max scene. FBX & OBJ formats along with texture maps are included so you can import the model into any 3d packages. Of Course you'll need to reassign the textures and create new shaders for objects if you plan to use OBJ & FBX instead of default Max scene. Energy beam is a separate object and can be removed or modified. In above preview images, Dyson sphere is separated in a few images to show the interior where the sun/star is placed. Shell ( Dyson sphere ) is provided as a unified perfect sphere ( not seperated ), however mesh is constructed in a way that it's very easy to select elements, pull them aparts, detach or even animate them. Currently, there are 3 meshes in the scene: Dyson sphere, Sun and Energy beam. Modifier stack is not collapsed. This makes the editing a lot easier. You can even adjust the model before shell modifier is applied. Tessellation and turbosmooth is also under your control to adjust the quality and polycount based on your requirements. Feel free to remove the fog effect to speed up the rendering ( if needed ). Except background stars, textures are created procedurally. Top quality 8k and tileable maps greatly contribute in achieved look and feel seen in above preview images.
