Description
Mount Rainier is a massive stratovolcano located 54 miles (87 km) southeast of Seattle in the state of Washington, United States. It is the most topographically prominent mountain in the contiguous United States and the Cascade Volcanic Arc, with a summit elevation of 14,411 ft (4,392 m).
This is currently the most detailed 3D model of Mount. Rainier available online. geometry derived from satellite elevation data.
The model consist of two objects, one is the one of just the mountain and the other consist of the mountain and the surrounding mountains. this is duo to the fact that on the smaller object there is a different diffuse map with higher detail of the vulcano itself.
the resolution of the smaller object(just the vulcano is 12000*10000 and the diffuse map of the wider area and the vulcano is 12000*9000 so the vulcano object overlaps the bigger on with a very slight elevation so that the underlying mesh does not show up in the render, for both diffuse maps there are also specular maps in lower resolution.
computers with less then 8gb ram will not be able to handle this big scene.
